The truth about cleansing
1. ‘The more foam, the more detergency’ is actually a stereotype.
There are several different types of face cleansing products. When choosing one you should focus not on the foam but on the surfactant. In the case of a mixed surfactant, it may feel good when you use it but your skin may get dry because of the too powerful detergency. In the case of products including natural amino acid substances, it has gentle detergency but doesn’t deel as good when actually using it. If your skin is oily, you should prefer the mixed product, if not use should prefer natural surfactants.
2. Deep cleansing is not always necessary.
Deep cleansing is needed when there are problems normal cleansing can’t solve like removing dead skin cells or sebums. In other words it is not need for simple body wastes. Too much deep cleansing can actually make dry skin even more dryer.
3. Make your first cleansing quick.
This applies to women or men using waterproof sunblock. In the first step of cleansing cream, tissue, oil, water, gel is mostly involved. If this step takes a long time, the waste seperated from the skin will mix with the cosmetic substances and stay there which will result in skin in a bad state.
4. The second step in cleansing is optional.
Most people go on to the next step after the first step of cleansing. However this next step is acutally not compulsary. People with dry skin especially should lightly clean the water remaining on the skin after the first step.
