I’m sure many of you are particularly more interested in style as the year end is near. You dress up well with perfect makeup on for your yearend parties. But the cold winter weather can mess up everything. Fluffy makeup can make you look quite messy. Why does our makeup get uncontrollably loose in the winter?
Now, let’s look into how to make base makeup more fixing for cold dry winters.

1. Dry Skin Type

If you have dry skin, winters can be nightmare because your skin gets itchy in the season. No matter how much you apply moisturizing cream, your skin stays dry all the same. For these skin types, you have to do a decent base makeup job otherwise you would end up seeing unset makeup and a lot of dead skin cells on the skin surface. All you can do is to provide ample hydration for the skin. Use skin toner to prime the texture every morning after facial wash and apply moisturizer for base in gentle massaging motion. Leave it for five minutes for better dermal absorption and start your makeup. The heaters inside your office can dry up the moisturizer you put on in the morning so put a drop of facial oil in the base foundation (BB cream, CC cream etc.) for makeup correction during the day. Apply another layer of hydrating cream near the eyes and the mouth where it gets drier than the rest of the areas. Take an ample amount of cream or balm to gently apply on the dry areas and remove dead skin cells during the day when your face gets all fluffy and dry.

2. Complex Skin Type

Complex skin types are tricky to handle all year round. In the winter, the T zone remains oily yet the U zone around the facial contour gets dry. It is crucial to strike a balance between moisture and oil for these skin types. Apply moisturizer around the T and U zones before putting makeup on and apply another layer of hydration for areas except U zone. Use sponge to apply it on the T zone and use hand for application on other areas. Put cream or balm moisturizer on the hand and cover your face with both hands for dermal absorption mid-day when your face gets all dry. Use oil paper film for T zones before putting on correction makeup.

3. Oily Skin Type

People with oily skin end up putting up too much of everything because their derma feels dry while the skin surface seems oily. It can create vicious cycle to put on oily cream too heavily on the skin for these skin types in the winter. It is essential for these skin types to reduce oiliness yet to offer ample hydration. Prime your skin texture with fresh skin toner after facial wash and apply gel-type moisturizer. After dermal absorption, apply yet another layer of moisturizer if you still feel dry on the skin. Apply effectively setting and covering base makeup and mix it with hydrating skin essence for application. Apply another layer of it if you feel you need more coverage. The skin surface may seem oily yet the skin beneath the foundation layer can be dry during the mid day. Use oil paper film to remove the floating oiliness and apply moisturizer and skin essence to provide hydration. Wait a while for absorption and then put on the base makeup.
